Type 38 Rifle Mexican Contract

The Type 38 Rifle Mexican Contract is a Japanese bolt-action rifle developed for export to Mexico from the Type 38 Rifle.

The weapon was used by the Mexicans during the Mexican Revolution, an order for 50,000 was placed but the civil war ended prior to the completion of the order so the remainder of the order was cancelled. Many of the weapons would eventually be sold to Russia, who used them in the first world war against the Japanese, of which many were captured.
