The Type98 So-Da (九八式装甲運搬車 ソダ? Kyū-Hachi-Shiki Sōkounpansha So-Da) was designed in 1937 as a personnel and ammunition carrier based upon the chassis of the Type97 Te-Ke. In addition to its 2 crew members, the So-Da could carry 10 infantry or 1 ton of ammunition. The hull was open-top and the flatbed in back had a double door at the rear. The flatbed could be covered with a tarp over the three rail supports to protect the contents of the vehicle.
