Overview
The Type97 Pole Planter was a utility vehicle built upon the Type 94 TK chassis. It was used by the IJA signal corps to transport and to plant telegraph poles. It was equipped with an auger drill for planting the poles into the ground. A collapsible ladder was placed on the roof to attach the cables to the pole. Hooks on each side of the vehicle were used to transport a maximum of 6 poles. The Type97 Cable Layer was used to lay cables on the planted telegraph poles.
