The T-45 is a Soviet prototype light tank developed in 1942 from the T-60 chassis.
Development[]
Faced with difficulties with producing T-70 light tanks due to insufficient parts, designers from Zavod 37 in Sverdlovsk designed a tank based on the design of the T-60 but with stronger armour, a more powerful gun, and with the ZiS-60 engine due to the lack of GAZ-202 at Zavod 37. Despite being a capable light tank with no glaring deficiencies, Soviet command ultimately decided to not pursue development further and ordered Zavod 37 to focus on T-70 production.
