STANAG 4694 "NATO Accessory Rail" (NAR) is a NATO standard agreement established in May 2009 to form a standard for a rail interface system (RIS) for NATO-operated equipment.
STANAG 4694 was developed to replace the STANAG 2324 / MIL-STD 1913 "Picatinny" rail from February 1995, by using metric measurements instead of imperial measurements.
