The Madsen Light Automatic Rifle (abbreviated as Madsen LAR) is a Danish assault rifle developed in the late 1950s.

The weapon was developed for the Finnish, it participated in trials but was not chosen for service. The weapon was then modified to use the 7.62x51mm cartridge whilst receiving other changes, and marketed to the international market. The weapon failed to receive enough attention and development would cease.
