The Halftrack Car, T16 is an American prototype halftrack car developed from the M2 Halftrack.
The T16 Halftrack Car is unrelated to the T16 Halftrack Truck.
In 1942 an effort to improve the M2 Halftrack was undertaken. Wider tracks and wheels, along with a 6.35mm foldable armoured roof was added to an M2 Halftrack, redesignating it the Halftrack Car, T16.
The upgrades were tested on a trial vehicle, but were deemed unsatisfactory, and the roof was thought to be unpractical.
