Overview
The Fairey P.4/34 is a British light carrier bomber developed for Air Ministry Specification P.4/34 in 1934, requesting a Light day bomber for tactical close-support. The design was competing against the Hawker Henley Mk.I. The aircraft was later submitted for Specification O.8/38 in 1938, requesting a Naval carrier-borne fighter and observation aircraft which a development of it was accepted; the Fairey Fulmar, which was based on the second prototype.
Outfitting and Payload
The payload of the aircraft was to be intended to be a pair of 250 lb bombs. Most likely General Purpose bombs however similar aircraft of the era also did begin to use Medium Capacity 250lb bombs as well in the Fleet Air Arm.
It only carried a single .303 British Browning Mark II.
