Overview[]
The Cruiser Tank, A.30, Challenger is a British cruiser tank.
The Cromwell was the main cruiser tank that the Commonwealth forces used in the European Theater during WWII, but its firepower was starting to become inadequate. It was decided to fit a Royal Ordnance QF 17 Pounder to the Cromwell, it increase its firepower. This gun was considered strong enough to take out the heavier targets like the Tiger II. The Challenger was essentially a longer Cromwell, with a new turret boasting the 17-Pdr.
