Overview

The BA-6M is a Soviet armoured car developed in 1936 as a modernization of the BA-6.

Development

In 1936, the BA-6 underwent a modernization program resulting in the BA-6M. The engine was replaced, and the weight reduced. A new turret was fitted too, which became the standard for future models, such as the BA-10.

The new turret was smaller, decreasing the ammo load by ten rounds. A 71-TK-1 radio set was fitted to the vehicle, the first vehicle of this class to have a radio in Soviet service.

The BA-6M was produced from 1936, with between 15 and 20 units constructed. The BA-10 replaced production of both the BA-6 and BA-6M series
