The AK-12 obr. 2020g., also known as AK-12M, (GRAU Index: 6P70M) is a Russian assault rifle deriving from the previous AK-Series weapons such as the AK-74M.

Development[]

The AK-12 was designed for general purpose issue in the Russian Army. In late September 2013 the AK-12 was passed over by the Russian military, but it was announced in December 2014 that it had passed state tests and now is being evaluated by the Russian Army as well as its competitor, the A-545.

The AK-12 has entered limited service in 2016, with previous models receiving the KM-AK modernization kit.

The AK-12 is capable of fitting the 6Ch60 suppressor.

The AK-12 received an update in mid 2020 to bring it (and the AK-15) up to the AK-19 standard, this includes a new rear sight among other minor features.
